There's some debate around whether Drake originated this nickname for Toronto but no debate that he made it famous.  In fact, "Why is Toronto called The Six" was Google's top trending question of 2019 in Canada.

Historically "The Six" refers to the 6 original boroughs that made up Toronto.  Thanking Drake for the much hipper "the 6ix"
